Shibori, a traditional Japanese manual resist dyeing technique, has been adopted by Indian artisans as an extension to Bandhani printing. The type of fabric and the ways of binding, folding or twisting allow the artisans to explore enormous possibilities. Red and blue colours, using madder root and indigo respectively, dominate the colour palette for Shibori.
