Lavender oil was a favourite bath time cleaner for the ancient Romans and has been used to speed healing.
Source: Lavandula hybrida is grown in France.
Extraction: Lavandin essential oil is obtained by steam distillation.
Aroma: Lavandin essential oil has a sweet, light, floral and herbaceous scent.
Fragrance note: Middle.
Properties: Lavandin essential oil is one of the safest and most commonly used.
It is both relaxing and stimulating, a powerful antiseptic and healer. It calms, refreshes, invigorates and lifts the spirits. Similar to true lavender but has a sharper scent rendering it a better choice for massage into aching muscles.
In aromatherapy Lavender Essential Oil is excellent for releasing tension, counteracting tiredness, lifting the spirits, improving minor skin problems and soothing aches or pains when used in massage. Because it is so gentle, it may be applied undiluted to burnt skin or insect bites and is safe to use during pregnancy.
Uses: Massage, baths, vaporization, poultice, compress and may be added to base emollients or used as a room spray.
Blends well with: Cedarwood, Clary Sage, Clove, Eucalyptus, Lavender, Oakmoss, Patchouli, Petitgrain, Pine and Rosemary.
Caution: Always ensure proper dilution of Lavandin essential oil.
