Cinnamonum zeylanicum
Source: Cinnamonum zeylanicum is mostly grown in Shri Lanka.
Extraction: Cinnamon essential oil is steam distilled from the leaves of Cinnamonum zeylanicum.
Aroma: Cinnamon essential oil has a strong, peppery, spicy and earthy scent.
Fragrance note: Middle.
Properties: Cinnamon essential oil is used in massage to optimize healthy digestion, energise the senses and relax stiff muscles and joints.
Uses: Massage, baths and inhalation.
Blends well with: Benzoin, Black Pepper, Clove, Frankincense, Grapefruit, Orange, Rosemary and Ylang Ylang.
Caution: Always dilute cinnamon essential oil to less than 5% before use on the skin. Use in moderation as may irritate the skin. Avoid during pregnancy, if suffering from alcoholism, haemophilia, prostatic cancer, kidney or liver problems or if taking anticoagulants.
