Cedrus atlantica
The oil from Cedarwood was used in ancient Egypt for embalming. In the Far East it is used as incense.
Source: Cedrus atlantica is native to Lebanon and grown commercially in Morocco.
Extraction: Cedarwood Atlas essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the wood of the coniferous tree.
Aroma: Cedarwood Atlas essential oil has a stimulating, refreshing and woody scent with a balsamic undertone.
Fragrance note: Base.
Properties: Cedarwood Atlas essential oil is used to promote clear skin and a healthy scalp due to its antiseptic and stimulating properties. It is a reviving tonic for every day stresses and strains.
Uses: Massage, baths, vaporization and can be added to a base emollient.
Blends well with: Bergamot, Clary sage, Frankincense, Jasmine, Juniper, Rosemary, Rosewood and Ylang Ylang.
Caution: Dilute Cedarwood Atlas essential oil to less than 5% before using on the skin.
Do not use during pregnancy.
