Source: Pimenta racemose is a native of South America, it is now grown in Barbados, Jamaica and throughout the West Indies.

Extraction: Bay essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the dried leaves and berries of the Bay Rum tree.

Aroma: Bay essential oil has a fresh, woody, clove-like scent that is both warming and stimulating.

Fragrance note: Top.

Properties: Bay essential oil is a natural antiseptic, stimulates circulation, promotes a healthy scalp and balances greasy hair.

Uses: Massage, inhalation, compress and poultice.

Blends well with: Frankincense, Geranium, Ginger, Lavender, Lemon, Lime, Nutmeg, Orange, Rosemary and Ylang Ylang.

Caution: Bay essential oil should be used in moderation only as it can irritate the mucous membrane.
