Source: Zingiber officinalis is grown in the West Indies, Florida, Africa, India and Japan.
Extraction: Ginger essential oil is steam distilled from the dried root of the tropical herbaceous perennial Zingiber officinalis.
Aroma: Ginger essential oil has a woody, spicy, peppery scent with a lemony top note.
Fragrance note: Middle.
Properties: Ginger has warming, stimulating, astringent and antiseptic properties. In aromatherapy, Ginger Essential Oil is good to use with massage to boost the circulation, relieve a tight muscles, stiffness, or exhaustion. It is also known to relieve minor digestive complaints and travel sickness. The astringent and antiseptic actions make it effective to warm and freshen tired feet.
Uses: Massage, baths, vaporisation and may be added to base emollients.
Blends well with: Bergamot, Cedarwood, Clove, Coriander, Eucalyptus, Frankincense, Geranium, Grapefruit, Jasmine, Juniper, Lemon, Lime, Mandarin, Neroli, Orange, Palmarosa, Patchouli, Rose, Sandalwood, Vetiver, Ylang Ylang.
Caution: Ginger Essential Oil is very potent so never apply it undiluted to skin and use it in moderation for both bath and massage. Ensure proper dilution.
